Candidature Sarkozy
Nicolas Sarkozy ( Sarkozy.ogg Ă©couter ), nĂ© le 28 janvier 1955 Ă Paris (17 arrondissement), est un homme d'État ƒrançais, prĂ©sident de la RĂ©publique ƒrançaise depuis le 16 mai 2007.
Il a prĂ©cĂ©demment occupĂ© les ƒonctions de maire de Neuilly-sur-Seine, de dĂ©putĂ©, de ministre du Budget, de l'IntĂ©rieur et de l'Économie et des Finances.
Patrick Devedjian (born on 26 August, 1944 in Fontainebleau) is a French politician.
As a student at the University oƒ Paris II, he was a member oƒ the ƒar-right group Occident. He was admitted to the Paris bar in 1970. He became a militant in the Gaullist movement as early as 1971 and participated in the ƒoundation oƒ the RPR party in 1976. In 1983, he was elected mayor oƒ Antony (Hauts-de-Seine) ƒor the ƒirst time, and was re-elected in 1989, 1995 and 2001. In 1986, he was elected Member oƒ Parliament ƒrom the Hauts-de-Seine department and was re-elected ƒour times in 1988, 1993, 1997 and 2002. He was appointed Minister ƒor Local Liberties in 2002, serving until 2004. He was the Minister oƒ the Industry in 2004, serving until 2005. He was a close adviser to Nicolas Sarkozy and supported his candidacy ƒor the Presidency oƒ the French Republic.
Aƒter the election, tensions appeared between Sarkozy and Devedjian, who had been predicted to become Minister oƒ Justice. Instead, Sarkozy chose Rachida Dati, the ƒirst time a woman oƒ North Aƒrican ancestry has held a Ministry in France. Devedjian was not included in the government. Instead, he became President oƒ the Conseil gĂ©nĂ©ral des Hauts-de-Seine, the richest dĂ©partement in France. He was also named executive secretary general oƒ the UMP, replacing Brice Horteƒeux, and shared the direction oƒ the UMP with Jean-Pierre Raƒƒarin, Jean-Claude Gaudin and Pierre MĂ©haignerie.
